The Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm F2.8-4 lens was first shown at Photokina 2016, and has made its official debut at CES 2017. The first of the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit F2.8-4 series to reach market, this premium lens is equivalent to 24-120mm on a Micro Four Thirds cameras and supports Panasonic's Dual IS system for enhanced shake reduction on compatible bodies.
Like other lenses planned for the series, the 12-60mm F2.8-4 is weather-sealed and functional down to +14°F/-10°C, and offers a nine-blade aperture. Panasonic touts it as a good fit for video with a quiet inner focus drive system and a micro-step drive system for smooth aperture adjustments to compensate for changes in brightness.
